A Virtual Social Skills Program for Young Adults (ages 18-35) who Experience Social Challenges

The Koch Center’s Virtual Connections Program is a social skills program for young adults with social and/or developmental challenges (ages 18-35). Participants are given the opportunity to work on conversational skills and continue social development in the time of social distancing. Sessions include both didactic social skills instruction and the opportunity to role play various conversational situations to practice connecting with others in a positive and effective manner. In addition to instruction, sessions provide for coaching, feedback, and homework assignments so that skills can be generalized into daily life. If desired, feedback may be provided to parents/caregivers so that they can continue to support group members’ growth and development.  

How long will the program meet?
This program meets for 1 hour each week (virtually) for 6 weeks. If there is interest, a new 6-week cycle may start after the conclusion of the first cycle. The day and time of the group is to be determined. Contact us for more information regarding the start date.

Who is this program for?
This program is suited for young adults with social and interpersonal challenges due to any of the following: Asperger’s, Autism-Spectrum Disorder, Learning/Communication Issues, Developmental Disorders, Brain-related (such as TBI, stroke) and/or Medical/Physiological Problems.

Can I make friends with other group members?
Yes! Group members and encouraged to make positive connections during the group program, and are permitted, but not required, to socialize productively outside of sessions.

What is the cost?
The fee is $450 for the 6 week group program ($75/per group). if you are a new client a mandatory intake is also required prior to starting this program. The intake assessment will help determine appropriateness and allow for goal-setting and an understanding of one’s strengths and weaknesses. The fee for the intake assessment is $175.

Is The Koch Center in-network with insurance?
No, The Koch Center is an out-of-network outpatient provider and does not contract directly with insurance companies. Payment is due at the time of service. You will be given a statement to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement according to any out-of-network benefits you may have. For your convenience, we do accept credit cards.

It is important for you to call your insurance company in advance so that you are clear about what your out-of-network benefits are. Your insurance company will tell you how much they may reimburse for various services. Each type of psychotherapy service has a CPT code recognized by insurance companies. The CPT code for an initial intake assessment is 90791. The CPT code for group therapy is 90853. Please make sure you understand your out-of-network annual deductible.
